robert-monroeRobert Monroe was a radio broadcasting executive who became known for his research into altered consciousness and founding The Monroe Institute. His 1971 book Journeys Out of the Body is credited with popularizing the term “out-of-body experience.”

Monroe achieved world-wide recognition as an explorer of human consciousness and outer body experiences. His research, beginning in the 1950s, produced evidence that specific sound patterns have identifiable, beneficial effects on our capabilities. For example, certain combinations of frequencies appeared to enhance alertness; others to induce sleep; and still others to evoke expanded states of consciousness.

Assisted by specialists in psychology, medicine, biochemistry, psychiatry, electrical engineering, physics, and education, Robert Monroe developed Hemi-Sync, a patented audio technology that is claimed to facilitate enhanced performance.

Holly Dunwoody is an Outreach Trainer from The Monroe Institute, she will guide you in discovering a variety of mental tools and processes designed to help you achieve profound states of awareness and relaxation through audio guided meditation exercises.

Holly started experiencing spontaneous OBE’s at the age of 4. Her father experienced many OBEs during his lifetime and she spoke in depth to him about the experiences after having many occurrences during her late teens and twenties. She remembered the stories she heard as a child of her fathers “flying” dreams and also the experiences relayed to her by her sisters. Later in life she also found out that her brother had many OBEs during childhood. These experiences were a trigger for her to search for “more”, to find an understanding. Seeking more answers she has also traveled to different countries to experience different cultures and participate in some of their native spiritual practices.

In 2006 Holly came across a book by the Author Rosalind McKnight and found it was about The Monroe Institute and the research conducted there. The book resonated with her. She then attended the Gateway Experience in 2007 and found answers she sought but also found that she continues to search further and deeper with each and every program. Holly began meditating in her early teens and after attending The Monroe Institute she felt strongly about wanting to share her love of meditation. She began a meditation group that has been in existence for the past eight years.
