Administrative Assistant

HOURS 12-9pm and Occasional weekends

**MUST live locally in Sarasota or Bradenton, Florida. (this is not a telecommute position)**

The Spirit University provides educational and enriching experiences that assist in personal transformation. Want to know more about the body-mind-spirit connection? The Spirit University is a place to meet others who are interested in meditation, energy healing, spirit communication and complementary pathways to health. At our classes and events we create an environment in which guests can interact with other like-minded individuals, and learn from industry experts.

As Administrative and Customer Service Assistant your responsibilities will be:

  • Assist and contribute to the planning of special events and classes
  • Research, coordinate and facilitate arrangements with vendors and venues
  • Invite and organize many in-house participants for a community event
  • Greet and register guests at an event as though you were welcoming them into your own home.
  • Assist in creating press releases and news articles for upcoming events and classes
  • Answer a customer inquiry in a caring and compassionate manner.
  • Call an industry expert to be a guest speaker for a weekend workshop.
  • Provide general office clerical duties and assist with errands as needed
  • Research market, identify event and class opportunities and generate interest
  • Prepare and help maintain timelines and schedules to ensure deadlines are met

This job might be for you if:

You communicate clearly. You write well. You can explain just about anything to anyone, and you’re comfortable communicating in writing, on the phone, and in person.

You are computer literate and are able to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point. You are able to build a newsletter in Constant Contact or Mail Chimp.

You pay attention to details and are organized. You are a high energy, sociable person. You are responsible and self-motivated.

You like helping people. You express yourself in a warm and considerate manner. You think on your feet. You like learning new things, and you can learn quickly.

You can take a project from start to finish on your own. You enjoy solving problems and finding creative solutions. If you don’t know an answer, you’ll dig until you find it.

You are motivated and driven. You volunteer for new challenges without waiting to be asked. You are going to take ownership of the time you spend with us and truly make a difference.

To land this job, you need to be computer literate, able to communicate with kindness and empathy, organize and execute a project, be innovative and responsible. It doesn’t need to be traditional administrative and customer service experience. Internships, volunteer work, and side projects count.
